eCR Now FHIR App versions v4.0.1 update Trigger Code Matching logic and are required to accommodate changes in the upcoming eRSD release, anticipated for March 31, 2026. Recommended versions are as follows:

Implementers using V4.X of the eCR Now App will need to update to Release 4.0.1

Implementers using V3.X of the eCR Now App that are unable to update to V4.0.1 may update to V3.1.16 (link), but should consider transitioning to V4.0.1 for additional security benefits and in preparation for upcoming reduced support of V3.X

Please be aware that both eCR Now App versions are backwards compatible with previous eRSD releases and can be implemented safely in preparation ahead of the release of eRSD 2026-02-27.

Transition Note to EHR Vendors

EHR Vendors should transition to V4.0.1 as soon as possible. eCR Now FHIR App Release 4.0.0 and all subsequent V4.X releases include critical security and infrastructure enhancements that strengthen the application’s security capabilities and align with modern security standards. These major updates also improve scalability and performance to support federal interoperability standards.

V3.X support limited to critical fixes only through June 30, 2026. All future enhancements and defect resolutions will only be available in V4.X.X releases.

EHR vendors should transition from Java 8 to Java 17 which is required as part of this migration.

The following changes were implemented in this release

  1. Update the Trigger Code Matching logic for ERSD version 3.1.1 and keep it backwards compatible with existing ERSDv2 and ERSDv3 that are already in production.

Notes to EHR Vendors:

Upgrade does not involve any database changes and does not require any migrations.
