Hiya, my name is Tom! I orchestrate computers to do things (usually with other computers) for a living. I'm passionate about software development, open-source technologies, and social justice, and am a staunch egalitarian. I enjoy art in virtually every form, am an avid gamer, and am always a student of history & language （我正在学习中文（普通话），但是真的很难啊！）.

  • Specialize in platform engineering, developer tooling, and enterprise integration - specifically, untangling the spaghettified complexity of legacy systems to build clear abstractions and refine architecture at every layer.
  • Former network engineer, Linux systems admin, Java developer, and cloud architect. I've spent most of my career going up and down the stack.
  • Currently leading the Open Source Program Office (OSPO) & supporting the internal developer platform @RBC.
