Thirty years in, I've built software and the teams behind it — App Indexing from zero to a 50-person org at Google, engineering leadership at Banksalad and MegazoneCloud, and three years teaching AI at KAIST. What holds my attention now is the next thing worth building, and the people worth building it with.
I work between Silicon Valley and Korea, and I've spent most of my career on the seam between the two — shipping products and growing the engineers who ship them.
Now — hands-on with LLMs and agents.
- Engineering org building — from first hire to a 50-person org, and the structure in between
- AI / LLM productization — turning models into products people actually use
- Cloud cost & scale — 75% cloud cost reduction at Banksalad, multi-cloud advisory at MegazoneCloud
- Search & recommendation systems — Google Search, and three years teaching the subject at KAIST
- Korea ↔ US bridge — building and leading teams on both sides
I write mostly in Korean, and a little in English.
- Brunch (Korean)
- 기억 (Memory) — a career retrospective, looking back to see forward
- 클라우드 솔루션 리포트 — cloud industry deep dives, published with NIA
- Medium (English) — essays on the craft of engineering, and the computing history that shaped it
- Online courses — Inflearn · FastCampus · Class101
Engineering leadership — CTO · VP Engineering · Head of Engineering. Drawn most to roles where I can build — hands-on with AI, on the US–Korea seam. Open to Director · Engineering Manager for the right team.
