OC-Little Translated: ACPI Hotpatch Samples and Guides for OpenCore

OpenCore Version macOS Last Update maciasl

🧰 Introduction

OC-Little Translated started as a translated adaptation of Daliansky's OC-Little but has since grown far beyond its origins into an independently expanded reference. What began as a translation project now covers substantially more ground than the original — with new chapters, a complete Appendix (A–Z), rewritten sections, and ongoing additions reflecting the latest developments in the Hackintosh scene. It complements Dortania's OpenCore Guides and covers topics like ACPI basics, device enabling, USB mapping, graphics fixes, and more. While tailored for OpenCore, most SSDTs and techniques are applicable to Clover bootloader as well.

📌 Disclaimer

  1. 🚫 Not an Installation or Configuration Guide

This is not a macOS installation nor OC Configuration guide. For setting up OpenCore for macOS usage on a Wintel System, use the OpenCore Install Guide. OC-Little focuses primarily on post-install tuning and hardware enablement.

  2. ✅ ACPI-Compliant Methods Only This project avoids DSDT patching and other invasive mods. It adheres to the philosophy of a clean, vanilla Hackintosh using only ACPI hotpatching. For more on this philosophy, see this InsanelyMac thread.

🌍 About the Translation and Expansion

  • Translation Process: Uses AI-based tools (DeepL, Google Translate) with manual copyediting for accuracy.
  • Restructuring: Organized the repo into logical sections based on issue types, components, and methods.
  • Expansion: Extended well beyond the original scope — added Chapters 7–20 and a full Appendix A–Z, none of which exist in Daliansky's original repo.
  • Improvements: Rewritten confusing sections (e.g., ACPI, USB Port Mapping), added missing descriptions, and included new content such as USB Port Mapping via ACPI.
  • Accuracy Note: As the translator does not speak Chinese, minor inaccuracies in the translated portions may exist.
