Docker image 0.31.0 does not have compatibility cpu settings #2088

Description

@xlsigned

This looks very much like issue #1939 having a comeback. Happens on a KVM/QEMU (proxmox) VM with CPU set to x86-64-v2-AES, but works with CPU >= x86-64-v3.

--> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86-64#Microarchitecture_levels

Note

  • The current proxmox (9.x) default cpu type is still x86-64-v2-AES
  • Red Hat recently deprecated x86-64-v1 and x86-64-v2 for RHEL 9 and requires x86-64-v3 for RHEL 10
  • Unless you are running very old hardware, your (proxmox) host CPU(s) will most likely support x86-64-v3
  • So, maybe proxmox will adjust the default CPU type in the not to far future, but until then ...
