(1) Failure Case Handling in the 7-Step Flow

AgentPay implements a multi-layer recovery mechanism:

• Service Delivery Verification: Agents submit photo/GPS proof to smart contract; if unverified within 48 hours, funds revert to escrow
• Dispute Resolution: Chainlink VRF oracle reviews conflicting claims and renders final decision
• Fallback: Escalation to manual arbitration via x402AgentPay LLC legal team if automated verification fails

(2) UPTO Protocol Specification

UPTO (Universal Protocol for Transactional Optimization) is an open standard developed by the x402 Foundation:
