I know that conceptually they are just Document Types, they are stored in the database in the same way as Document Types, but I sort of feel that Element Types, as a concept is a bit hidden...
especially people new to the CMS
(although it'll all be AI-driven soon anyway and there won't be a backoffice as such, but pretending that it was still three years ago for a moment)
With the new Library section and the new feature of Elements, and the emphasis that these are not routable documents, it's not immediately obvious you'd need to create a Document Type and tick 'Is Element Type' or that the Element Type option is on the Document Type menu- I mean we all know that, and have learned that, but would having it as a menu item 'surface' the concept in a more friendly way?
Could then remove the Is Element Type checkbox from the UI - But sometimes it's useful to switch Element Types into Document Types and vice versa, but maybe that could be achieved by allowing the definitions to be moved between the two folders and that would just 'tick or untick' the box in the database...
Would this make it more consistent?
Or is it really important than anyone using the CMS, shouldn't think that Element Types are different to Document Types in anyway (other than the routability)?
