The decision: instead of paywalling projects or taking VC, I ship everything MIT and let people who want faster releases help fund them.

The outcome: every $25/month I raise is roughly one extra weekend per month I spend on OSS instead of client work. That math is why this page exists.

Plus CommitWeave (smart commit CLI), PalRun (Rust command palette), Sentinel (dev process manager), and ThingWire (AI-to-hardware gateway via WoT + MCP) in active development.

Where your money actually goes

I do not manufacture urgency. Here is the honest breakdown at each tier, based on how much a focused unit of my time is worth.

$5 / month pays for a Dev.to cover image, a design tool license, or a Claude Code session I use to ship something open source. A vote that a project is worth keeping alive.

$25 / month is roughly one focused weekend per month on OSS maintenance. Dependency bumps, security patches, docs, release notes. The unglamorous work that keeps projects from quietly rotting.

$100 / month buys a full day of new feature work every month. This is the tier that moves issues from "known problem" to "shipped fix."

The goal

I am working toward $250 / month in recurring sponsorships. That unlocks one dedicated OSS day per week, permanently, without me having to trade a client-billable hour for it. Every tier helps get there.
