Supporting the Albumentations ecosystem

Albumentations is an open-source image-augmentation ecosystem for computer vision. It includes the legacy Albumentations library, the actively developed AlbumentationsX library, documentation, the interactive Explore tool, and public benchmarks. Sponsorship supports the ongoing maintenance of this shared infrastructure.

Licensing

Components of the ecosystem use different licenses:

  • The legacy albumentations package and repository remain available under the MIT License.
  • The current albumentationsx package and repository are available under AGPL-3.0-only.

The AGPL permits commercial use subject to its terms. Albumentations, LLC also offers separately negotiated commercial licenses for AlbumentationsX, with alternative rights defined by the applicable agreement. Whether a particular use complies with the AGPL depends on the deployment facts.

Supporting maintenance

This page is for people and organizations that want to support the long-term maintenance of the Albumentations ecosystem. Sponsorship is voluntary. It does not change the license that applies to your use, grant additional usage rights, or include support or an SLA.

Maintaining the ecosystem involves continuous work: reviewing contributions, maintaining compatibility across frameworks, improving performance, fixing edge-case bugs, running benchmarks, and keeping the project stable as the surrounding ML ecosystem evolves.
