This guide provides a visual walkthrough of SafeWall – Internet Blocker and its core features.
The Dashboard: A clean, dark-themed interface built with CustomTkinter. From here, you can manage firewall rules for specific folders or search for installed apps.
Search Feature: Use the integrated search bar to find installed Windows applications. SafeWall automatically locates the installation directory, so you don't have to search through
Program Files.
Select & Block: Choose a directory containing
.exefiles. SafeWall's multi-threaded engine scans the folder and applies Inbound and Outbound rules simultaneously.
Success: Once complete, a confirmation message appears. All blocked applications are logged in the "Recent Actions" section for easy tracking.
Unblock: To restore internet connectivity, simply select the same folder or app and click Unblock. SafeWall safely removes the specific firewall rules it created without affecting other system settings.
- OS-Level Persistence: You can close SafeWall after blocking. The rules are stored in the Windows Firewall and remain active until you manually unblock them.
- Recursive Scanning: SafeWall doesn't just block files in the main folder; it scans all sub-folders to ensure no background "updater" or "helper" executables escape.
- Admin Rights: Ensure you run SafeWall as Administrator so it has the permissions required to modify Windows Firewall rules.
