Describe the Bug

Summary

The emulator exits silently to the desktop.

There is:

  • No Fatal error in the log
  • No Access Violation
  • No crash dump generated
  • No Windows "stopped working" dialog

Only Windows Event Viewer reports a crash.

What happens

Game boots normally.

Sony logo → Santa Monica logo → intro videos

After the intro finishes, the emulator starts loading the main game resources.

The log shows files such as:

  • BOOT1.GNF closes successfully
  • R_FX.WAD
  • R_PERM.WAD
  • R_LANG_*.WAD

Immediately after that, the emulator exits to desktop.

The black screen lasts less than one second.

The game never reaches the "Press Any Button" screen.
