Language Support for other languages

Hi there, is language support for other languages than English planned? If the current state of the code allows for translations I would like to help!

Unfortunately, the current state of the code makes it impossible to implement translations in any remotely scalable way.
If we were to add them (which would be an enormous undertaking), the upstream project would continue using hardcoded strings, which would make it impossible for us to cleanly merge in their changes. That would mean the end of our fork.

I'm also not a native English speaker, but whether we like it or not, everything in the coding/dev world is currently done in English. The fact that GitHub Desktop doesn't support translations doesn't surprise or bother me at all.
