Installation of hindent on Linux/Mac and used in the editors VS Code and Atom

Question

I can't install hindent:

stack install hindent

Error message in VS Code:

HIndent is not installed
/bin/sh: hindent: command not found

According to installation in terminal:

Copied executables to PATH/.local/bin:

• hindent

Warning: Installation path PATh/.local/bin
not found on the PATH environment variable.

I have the same error on Mac as on Ubuntu.
