BMaaS integration

Hi I was wondering if there is a plan to provide a similar deployment repo such as this one but for the BMaaS capabilities of IronCore.

Is there any deployment documentation with examples for that?

Hi @guigomcha and thanks for your question! The idea behind ironcore-in-a-box to give a sneak peak into the IaaS layer of the IronCore project. This is purely focusing around virtualized compute and ceph based block storage and our dpdk based SDN.

Including bare metal into that environment is rather tricky as you need a "real" server which a working BMC.

Nevertheless if you want to play around with IronCores bare metal automation there is a local dev setup mode: https://github.com/ironcore-dev/metal-operator/blob/main/docs/development/dev_setup.md which you can play around with. It is basically using tilt and runs our metal-operator inside a kind cluster. Servers are emulated by starting Pods inside the kind cluster.

@afritzler indeed I did not have any interest on having everything in the same place. Thanks for the link, we actually have some BMC to test in a real environment, I guess that it should be possible to adapt the environment to point to my real endpoint. Is there a more "production" deployment documentation?
