Hello,
I'm trying QuickLook, installed it yesterday from MS Store. I installed some plugins which CADImport is among them.

This plugin shows an error popup when previewing DWG files at first start, tried it several times by restarting QuickLook. "Error in the registration key!". Here is an SS:

After closing that it works fine, but shows this trial version backdrop in all DWG files. It is tiled to entire screen.

Is this expected?

Hello, I tried again and the problem was still present. But after a few tries it started to work strangely. It started to only preview files as thumbnail size. And sometimes only showed file icon in preview window.

Then I uninstalled the store version and reinstalled the .msi now. I reinstalled the plugins. It showed the same error in the original post. Despite the error, it is still usable but I guess it will stop working after some time.

PS:

1. Also when I right click the QuickLook icon there is an option to "show data folder". In store version this leads to "Documents" folder. There is no quicklook folder there. But the .msi version directs to the correct folder.
2. I have already Autocad 2025 installed on my system.
3. I'm using Turkish win 11, Turkish have special characters like "I-İ-ı-i-ş-ç-ö", from my experience some apps had problems in the past with pathing because of this (yes even a giant like Autocad). For example "Users" = "Kullanıcılar". these are not lowercase "i", they are lowercase "ı" :).

I worked in Turkey for a while and they don't use Turkish special characters for their user names, which usually avoids a lot of problems.

It is recommended that you use pure English letters for user names, because QuickLook integrates a large number of C++ based libraries that may not support special character paths.

My company uses domain so I have no control on names, they are using our real names and the folders are created automatically (I guess). So there seems to be special character there.

I wıll try this on my home PC to see if there is any difference.

You can use the zip version of Quicklook to test.

Hello, I tested in my 2 machines. Zip version also gives the registration error at first start on boot (same behaviour, it only gave error on first start). But it does not show the "trial version" watermark yet. We'll see if it will after some time.

The true key only include in releases package instead of source code.

So, you didn't use the source code, right?

Of course, I used MS store version first, then I tried .msi from here, then I tried the zip version you sent (4.1.1).

Of course this is not a vital error, still usable in this state.

EDIT: I want to also add this, don't kno if this means anything. Here is the extracted zip file structure on my desktop. All plugins are in one folder but cadimport plugin is under user data folder.

I found that you seem to have installed a path with Turkish, which is probably the reason.

Yes we talked about my system being Turkish and its special characters. Unfortunately there is no way for me to try in an English system.

You can fully uninstall the plugins and try the zip version QuickLook to install the plugin.

That's a way to avoid the Turkish path.
