<p class="lead text-center">Our most rigorous vetting is for sailors—they're the ones handling cargo and navigating the Bay.</p>

<h3>1. Application Review</h3>
<p>We review your sailing experience, boat specifications, and availability. We're looking for:</p>
<ul style="margin-top: 1rem; padding-left: 1.5rem;">
<li>Minimum 3 years coastal sailing experience</li>
<li>Familiarity with Narragansett Bay specifically</li>
<li>Vessel at least 25' LOA in good condition</li>
<li>Flexible schedule for cargo runs</li>
</ul>

<h3>2. Onboarding Call</h3>
<p>A 30-minute video call with our team to discuss your experience, answer questions, and get a sense of fit. We want sailors who share our values around sustainability, community, and reliability.</p>

<h3>3. Boat Inspection</h3>
<p>An in-person or detailed video inspection of your vessel. We check:</p>

<li>Overall seaworthiness and maintenance</li>
<li>Safety equipment (PFDs, fire extinguisher, VHF radio, flares)</li>
<li>Adequate cargo space and tie-down points</li>
<li>Clean, dry storage area for food goods</li>

<p>We discuss your food safety protocols, wash and pack procedures, and cold chain management. We don't require formal certifications, but we do expect professional practices.</p>

<p>Goods must be properly packaged for transport—sturdy crates, appropriate containers for the product type, clear labeling. We provide guidelines and can supply standard crates.</p>

<p>We verify that you have suitable waterfront access or can arrange delivery to a nearby pickup point. We'll work with you to solve access challenges.</p>

<p>For farms shipping regularly, we like to visit in person to understand your operation and build a relationship. This isn't a formal inspection—it's about connection.</p>

<p>We verify that you have current health department permits and are in good standing. Standard stuff for any food service operation.</p>

<p>Can you receive deliveries at a dock or marina? Do you have someone available during delivery windows? Proper storage for the goods you're ordering? We talk through logistics.</p>

<div class="faq-answer">For sailors, standard recreational boat insurance with liability coverage is sufficient for our current operations. As we grow, requirements may evolve.</div>

<div class="faq-answer">No. We work with farms of all types—organic, conventional, transitional. What matters is quality, food safety, and commitment to the local food system.</div>

<div class="faq-answer">No. Vetting is part of joining the network. We invest time in building trust because it's essential to how we operate.</div>
