The current header, especially on mobile devices, can take over a third of the screen, (tested on Galaxy S7 Edge which is not that small a screen).
A large part of that is that there are 3 lines, (wrapping to 4), of links "About eMCM", "Download PDF" & "eMCM on Github" - these could easily be replaced by a "more" or "info" link. Likewise the line under the search bar, "You can jump...." wraps to 2 lines - maybe have a simple "hints" link - this would make more effective use of the screen real estate.
