For tests or in the case of problems with a new Contao Manager version, it would be helpful if the auto-update could be skipped.
I think it should not be possible to completely deactivate the auto-update, as otherwise there would be numerous different Manager versions that would generate additional support.
Under certain circumstances, however, a temporary suspension of the update would be helpful.
Here are a few ideas:
- Add a skip button next to the OK button
- Open the Contao Manager via a special route e.g. contao-manager.phar.php/noupdate
- An entry in the manager.json, which starts the manager without self-update. However, the value should be automatically cleaned up again, otherwise it will probably be forgotten to remove it.
- create a file in the Contao Manager directory, which is deleted after next startup.
There are certainly other ideas on how this can be technically implemented. But I would definitely welcome it if there was a way to skip the auto-update and stay on a previous version in the short term.
