Building functions in R to make code testable

What should/will the learning objective(s) be?

• How an R function is structured
• RStudio shortcuts to create them
• Which pieces of documentation are minimally necessary

We'll use the TIB's FAIR-R lesson (based on Software Carpentry's R novice)

What do participants need to know / install / bring?

• their own computer with RStudio installed
• optional: R scripts that have no functions yet or whose functions they want to improve, document & test
