how do you set cookies for a domain?

I'm trying to rip a private reddit sub, but the log is directing me to set cookies for the domain. I've check the settings locally and dug through the entire repo on GH, and can't find anything anywhere remotely indicating how to do this. Would appreciate some assistance.

Running latest build, on Mac OS latest.

Great piece of software btw. Been using it for years and it's been bloody solid. So many other rippers come and go. But nope, RipMe (I still know it as J-Rip lol) soldiers on :)

@not-the-savior in the rip.properties file you have to create a new entry and save like:

cookies.reddit.com = token_v2= your-token-value

You can get the token using any extension like EditThisCookie etc.

root cause is that reddit has "shut down unauthenticated .json endpoints"

I've tried multiple numbers and none of them work. I've tried eu_cookie, stripe, csrf_token, and none work. Help please.

I set my cookies as arkajit described, but then I get index out of bounds error

I don't see an obvious bug when it's pulling the cookies, so it must be somewhere else

Does anyone know how to get ripme to print logs? That seems broken too.

@samt108 the ripper is working for me, but not sure about the error, You can print the logs by running the code after cloning it locally .

@arkajit1996 I got the logs (they were in my home folder for some reason), which helped me realize I need to include "token_v2=" in the cookies. But now I still get 403. What exactly did you put in the properties file? I have:

"cookies.reddit.com = token_v2=<token>"

With the spacing exactly so.

On chatgpt's advice I've also tried adding "; reddit_session=<token>" and "; session_tracker=<token>" with no luck. Appreciate any help you can offer!

@samt108 Only like this, just check while you are exporting the cookies you are taking the token from "token_v2" field

@arkajit1996 I opened a new reddit session and got a new token and it seems to be working. Thanks!

I still have all 3, and I'm not going to mess with it while it's working, but next time I run it, I'll definitely try to delete the other two cookies and see what happens

@samt108 Great! Yeah each time we logout/re-login, we have to replace with the latest token value as well.

Got it. Makes complete sense. I grabbed the cookie in incognito. I probably closed the session. I guess I'll just have to keep it open while using ripme. Mildly inconvenient, but I'm gla it's still working.

I don't think it matters where you put it. Get a new cookie and try again. Keep your session open

I have been, I have reddit home page loaded on Firefox, then get cookie in, load ripme and try and do a folder and get the error.

Did you just post a valid token for everyone to see?

Even after manually setting the session token in the properties file, it's still failing out for me.
