Kahoot

What is Kahoot?

Kahoot is an interactive quiz platform that helps make learning fun and engaging. It’s a great way to review concepts, check understanding, and energize the group through friendly competition.

How to run a Kahoot in the class

  1. Log in to Kahoot using the credentials for your level (Ninjas, Heroes, or Superheroes) found in the Organizational Spreadsheet.
  2. Open the Kahoot quiz prepared for your session.
  3. Click “Host Live” and select a game mode (recommended). The game versions are more dynamic and engaging for the kids than the classic version.
  4. Project the game on the screen so everyone can see the questions.
  5. Ask the kids to join the game by going to kahoot.it on their device and entering the game PIN shown on the screen.
  6. Once everyone has joined, start the game and guide the kids through the questions. You can pause briefly between questions to explain answers or encourage discussion.

Game mode in Kahoot

When running this activity, please always choose the game mode rather than the classic or original version, as it tends to be more dynamic and engaging for the kids. The goal is to keep the energy high and make the learning experience playful and interactive. Select "other ways to play", and choose any of those options.

Access to Kahoot accounts

The login credentials for Kahoot for each level (Ninjas, Heroes, and Superheroes) are available in the Organizational Spreadsheet.

Kahoot Master

We already have Kahoot quizzes from previous semesters that you can use as a starting point. However, the volunteer leading this section as the Kahoot Master is very welcome to review and improve them. Feel free to add new questions, adjust existing ones, or include fun general questions to keep the kids engaged and make the game even more enjoyable.
