We are trying to choose appropriate images to show in Mapillary using info like the image resolution, recency, etc. But it's possible that the image we choose could have some issue like poor lighting, and we may want to find another image at the same location (not really an option with GSV, though those images tend to be higher quality anyway).
Clicking on the compass navigation button will bring you forward, rather than showing you another image at your current location. And the navigation arrows do something similar. So it could be helpful to have a dedicate button for this that's specific to Mapillary.
Another reason that this could be useful: when using compass navigation, we also bias towards keeping you on images from the same "sequence" (which would be the same user with the same camera). If there are exposure issues or something that means that your current image isn't particularly, it's likely that this would be the case for other images in the sequence as well. So a feature to try another image at the current location could help to jump you to a different sequence as well!
