How to increase the speed of TreeView expansion/collapse

The TreeView component works fine, but if I create 100+ nested items, then the collapse time takes a long time.
How can I improve this behaviour?

Qml now comes with a TreeView component, better rewrite your own stuff with that. Qaterial TreeView is more a hack, that was done before qml treeview became available.
