There's a few steps that are unnecessary as they are completed once already, that said... I don't fully understand the logic behind much surrounding "Auth" things, I had a PFSense router that required a certificate for a certificate just for me to create a simple certificate login setup, it felt rather circular and pointless to me, again, I don't know these things, that's fine.
What I do know, is that the "Register Device" is where the entire tutorial falls apart.
- Device Registration: Steps 1 - 3, [Confidence 110%] (100% accurate.)
- Device Registration: Steps 4 - 8, [Confidence "Divided by Zero"] (THE BUTTON IS REMOVED IN STEP 4.)
- Configure Consent Screen: Steps ALL [This had me running all over the place in this area] (The settings are there MOST are already configured, NONE of it is in the "step-by-step" configuration style anymore, but none of the images are accurate anymore, needs significant redo.)
- Configure Credentials" Steps 5 - 8 [Please help] (This was more unexpected already configured but not really stuff, the image displayed "Web client (auto created by Google Service)" it was not there, but the one I made previously was, so I created "Web client (not auto created by Google Service)" and completed the steps, again more changes that destroy the tutorial, you cannot download or view things after creating them, you cannot reset them, you can create a new one, download it, and disable then delete the old one and that is all folks.
- Setting authentication in the app: Step 1 [So I have 2 of these files] (WHICH ONE DO I USE? PS: I used the last one downloaded from the "Web client (not auto created by Google Service)")
- Setting authentication in the app: Step 10 - 11 [What?] (I didn't do any of this, it just works now.)
- Enabling Personal Results: Step 2 [Could just be a me problem here] (I do the "Who am I?" and my phone gets a ping, but when I go to set it up, it just flashes a grey screen then goes back to whatever I was doing prior to the ping.)
Yes it's a lot, but dang did I manage to get through it! I sure hope you figure it out and get things updated for future users ease.
I have mine working at least, I'm thankful for that and I'm not upset with you for the broken wiki, I know that whatever Google chooses to change or throw out is not something you can anticipate, expect, or even have any control over. I hope I been helpful.
