Microphone Toggling doesn't work

What did you do?

We are currently developing an Audio Room feature in our app and are using the Demo Audio Rooms app by GetStream as a reference.

We noticed that in the latest releases, microphone toggling is not functioning for participants—although the device shows the orange microphone indicator suggesting the user can speak, no audio is actually transmitted. and is only functioning for admins. After rolling back version by version, we found that version 1.20.0 works correctly for both participants and admins.
However, we are concerned about staying on an older version, as this may cause us to miss future updates, improvements, or bug fixes.

Version: 1.42.0 (Not Working ❌)

What did you expect to happen?

Expected: Mic is working fine for all users in recent releases

What happened instead?

It works correctly for the admin who created the room, but it does not function properly for participants.

GetStream Video version: 1.42.0
GetStream Video frameworks: StreamVideo, StreamVideoSwiftUI
iOS version: 26.2
Swift version: 5
Xcode version: 26.2

Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately those test applications haven't been updated in a very long time.

While we are updating those, I was able to reproduce a few issues (including the one you mention).

May I ask you to try with our latest develop rather than the release and let me know if you can still reproduce the issue?

Sorry for the delay but some other priorities where in place. We've pushed a change in develop that will be part of our next release.

After trying the AudioRooms tutorial app (from main branch) and changing the SPM package dependency for StreamVideo (to branch: develop), i was able to confirm that this is now working as expected.

If you get a chance to test, I would appreciate your feedback but in any case the fix will be available in our next release (probably next week).
